Place for everyoneWe recognise that not every school has years of experience with Rock Eisteddfod Challenge®, so the competition is divided into three divisions (plus J Rock™ for Primary Schools), allowing schools of all sizes and levels of experience/expertise to participate and benefit from involvement.

RAW™ DIVISION
RAW™ Division strips away the sets and focuses purely on the performance elements of dance and drama.
RAW™ division also makes it easier for teachers to appoint student leaders to run the show, taking the pressure of staff.
- Expenditure ceiling: $2,500
- Team numbers: Minimum of 30, maximum of 126
- Location: Schools can enter RAW™ division at every location on the Rock Eisteddfod Challenge® tour.

OPEN DIVISION
Open Division gives schools the opportunity to enter a large team and produce a large scale performance.
- Expenditure ceiling: $8,500
- Team numbers: Minimum of 20, maximum of 142
- Location: Schools can enter Open Division at every location on the Rock Eisteddfod Challenge® tour.

PREMIER DIVISION
Premier Division is for schools that have previously won or received a place in the Open Division. Performances in this division are traditionally of a very high standard and give students the opportunity to produce sophisticated and professional pieces of dance and theatre.
- Expenditure ceiling: $8,500
- Team numbers: Minimum of 20, maximum of 142
- Location: Schools can qualify for this division on the Melbourne and Sydney legs of the Rock Eisteddfod Challenge® tour.

J ROCK™
J Rock™ is the largest Primary School division. It gives schools the opportunity to enter a large team and produce a large scale performance.
- Expenditure ceiling: $2,500
- Team numbers: Minimum of 20, maximum of 146
- Location: Schools can enter J Rock™ at every location on the tour.

J ROCK RAW™
J Rock RAW™ was a new division in 2011. It strips away the sets and focuses purely on the performance elements of dance and drama, giving more schools the opportunity to enter.
- Expenditure ceiling: $1,500
- Team numbers: Minimum of 30, maximum of 128
- Location: Schools can enter J Rock RAW™ at every location on the tour.
