WINNERS ANNOUNCED IN THE NATIONAL TV FINAL!
Hosted by Shura Taft and judged by Michael Coe and Charli Robinson, the two week series which was broadcast on the Nine Network saw thousands of students compete in this dance, drama and design spectacular. It was a hard choice and judges could not deny the talent of Australian schools as they announced the places.
The first ever J Rock™ National comp saw three fantastic schools take out the top spots:
- 1st – St Peter’s Anglican Primary School (NSW)
- 2nd – Glenhaven Public School (NSW)
- 3rd – Mt Eliza North Primary School (Vic)
RAW™ Division had the judges debating until the last minute. Michael said, “It was such a difficult decision. Each school was so good in their own way.” In the end they could not split two of the schools, awarding the first ever tied first place:
- 1st tied – St Peter’s Catholic College (NSW) and Randwick Boys/Girls High Schools (NSW)
- 3rd – Gisborne Secondary College (Vic)
And when it was time for Open and Premier Division to be announced, there was another shock tie. Charli put the unusual amount of ties down to the fact that there is “obviously far too much talent in Rock Eisteddfod Challenge”. Tying for third place was Woolooware High School (NSW) and Brunswick Secondary College (Vic).
Michael announced second place to NSW team, Cranebrook High School, saying they had “stupendous performance work”.
The coveted first place was given to a school that Charli described as being “outstanding in every single way”. It was South Australian school, Brighton Secondary School, with their performance,
