Get Active – Get Involved!
Not in Rock this year but want to get involved?

Practice makes perfect. If you have a friend or family member participating in Rock Eisteddfod Challenge®, help them with practice at home. Watch them run through routines and even learn a few moves, you might uncover some hidden talents!

Volunteer. There are heaps of great ways to be involved in Rock from behind the scenes. Email admin@rockchallenge.com.au to find out how to become an offical Rock Volunteer in 2012!

Refuel your busy body. Rehearsals can be hectic times, when opening night is looming, meals are often rushed and on the go. Cut up some fresh fruit or make some salad sandwiches and help to fuel some future rock gods.

Be inspired. Performing in Rock Eisteddfod Challenge is not for everyone, but let it inspire you to try something new. Dancing can be done just about everywhere and in many styles. Find a local dance group near you or make your own dance floor at home.

Let Rock Eisteddfod Challenge inspire you to try something new.

Shop around for an activity that suits you
If going to the gym isn’t really your thing, or the idea of running makes you cringe – shop around.

There’s a whole heap of activities you can try on for size, like:

ShoppingIf you’re a true bargain hunter, you can treat shopping as your good excuse for walking. Just 30 minutes a day is all you need. But be sure to make up for the time you spend standing still. It costs nothing to have a look!

DancingIt’s fun and you can dance anywhere you like, whether it’s around your bedroom, at a club or part of a formal dance class. From belly to ballet, jazz to jive, there’s a style to suit everyone.

CyclingYou don’t have to wear lycra if it’s not your thing. Just jump on the bike and make sure you pack plenty of water to prevent dehydration.

SwimmingSpending a day at the beach or local pool is a great way to hang out with your friends. It’s also cheap! Don’t forget to slip, slop, slap.

There’s also a heap of sports you can play with your friends, so put your parent’s credit card away and shop around for an activity that suits you.
