J Rock Achievements

Independent research projects have been conducted o­n Rock Eisteddfod Challenge® and results of research from the 2004 the Junior Rock Eisteddfod Challenge® (now known as J Rock™) event are similarly encouraging, helping to support the belief that the healthy messages in the event are having a positive impact o­n students who participate.

 

 

Results
Independent research projects have been conducted o­n Rock Eisteddfod Challenge® – the event we host for high school students – over several years helping to support the belief that the drug and alcohol messages in that event are having a positive impact o­n students who participate.

Research and feedback from teachers participating in the 2004 the Junior Rock Eisteddfod Challenge® event (now known as J Rock™) is similarly encouraging. Key points are noted below.

The research is evidence that J Rock™ has a positive impact not only o­n participating students but also o­n the school, because it offers a supportive environment regarding healthy lifestyle and activity. At the same time, the event provides an opportunity for students to develop social skills and self-confidence by working collaboratively with their peers, teachers and parents.

The findings substantiated the intention of J Rock™ – an excellent youth intervention and anti-obesity program that works.
