Executive Producer
Peter Sjoquist is the Executive Producer of the Rock Eisteddfod Challenge® and J Rock? events as well as all Global Rock Challenge? events across the world. Peter Sjoquist, has been involved with the event for more than 20 years and has 30 years experience in special events management and film and television production.

Peter?s credentials and memberships equip him with a depth of understanding and experience in the areas of drug prevention, entertainment and business management. Additionally Peter was involved in the Royal Charity Concert for the Queen (1980), opening of the Sydney Entertainment Centre (1983), Narara Festival (1984), Crocodile Dundee (1985), opening of the Bicentenary (1988) and Ferngully ? the Last Rainforest, 1990.

In the eighties, he also acted as co-producer for the entertainment at several AFL, Rugby League and Rugby Union events, and as producer for television specials for John Farnham, Boy George, Cliff Richard, Mick Jagger and Bob Dylan?s segment in the 2001 Academy Awards.

In 1996, he was Executive Producer for the movie The Phantom starring Catherine Zeta-Jones and Billy Zane. In 2000 with the eyes of the world o¬n Sydney, Peter was responsible for producing the television coverage of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

Peter became a member of the Order of Australia on Australia Day January 26th 2004 in recognition of his work with young people through Rock Eisteddfod Challenge®, Croc Festival® and producing the telecast of the opening and closing ceremonies of the Sydney Olympic Games.
Board & Management
In November 2002 the Rock Eisteddfod Challenge® Foundation was established to run both the Rock Eisteddfod Challenge® and J Rock? events.

The Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation committed to providing performing arts opportunities for young Australians. Their charter is to build o¬n the success of the event and to continue to explore new avenues to give students the opportunity of learning through the arts.

The Rock Eisteddfod Challenge® Foundation has Deductible Gift Recipient Status as approved by the Australian Taxation Office,allowing the Foundation to recieve gifts with tax benefits for the donor.

The Board of the Rock Eisteddfod Challenge® Foundation offers its experience to the Rock Eisteddfod Challenge® and J Rock? events and hopes to establish strong links into participating communities as well as Government and corporate Australia.
Foundation Board
Rock Eisteddfod Challenge® Foundation board consists of committed individuals who can advise on many complex governance matters to do with running a Foundation:

Robert Wannan BA (Hons) LL.B Chairman. Consultant, Kemp Strang, Lawyers
Rob has practised as a Commercial Lawyer for more than 30 years. He is a director of a number of companies including Aussie Home Loans Limited. He has a keen interest in education and is the Chairman of the Council of Knox Grammar School and Chairman of Knox Grammar School Foundation Limited.

Alan Beasley BEc, CPA, FCIS, FAICD Independent Investment Consultant and Company Director
Formerly Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer BNP Paribas Investment Management Australia, 1996 -2002. Previously, spent 5 years as an Australian Equities analyst and Portfolio Manager, for Institutional Investors in Australia. Alan served Bankers Trust Australia, for 13 years, as Company Secretary, Associate Director Tax effective Financing, and Vice President, Investment Management. Alan also served as Australian General Manager Director of US based Asset Management firms, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, and MFS Institutional Advisers.

Robert Graham FAA, MD, FRACP, FACP, FAHA,
Executive Director, Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, St Vincent?s Hospital

Robert is widely involved in healthcare and biomedical research. He holds academic positions at the University of New South Wales (Des Renford Professor of Medicine and Professor Of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics), and Case Western University, Cleveland, Ohio (Professor of Physiology and Biophysics). He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science and a Director of EnGeneIC, Inc. In 2003, he was awarded a Centenary-of-Federation Medal for services to the community and molecular cardiology.

Brian Wexham CEO, Institute for Trade Skills Excellence
Brian was born in London in 1948 and has spent his life in publishing. He joined The Times in 1967, occupying a variety of roles. In the early eighties he moved to South Africa, where he worked for National Press in Cape Town and wrote the highly acclaimed Shipwrecks of the Western Cape (Timmins, 1982). After travelling through Africa and Australia, Brian returned to London in 1987 to work for The Observer before moving to Kenya in 1990 to head up Lonrho's media interests in Africa. Brian now lives in Sydney with his 4 daughters and is a Director of several publishing entities. Additionally he is a Board Member of Worldskills.
Foundation Memberships
The Rock Eisteddfod Challenge® Foundation is a member of the Registry of Cultural Organisations (ROCO) which brings together groups whose common focus is the promotion of arts-related activities including community arts, performing arts, music, television, craft, Aboriginal arts, video and design. Rock Eisteddfod Challenge® and J Rock? bring together these mediums and interests!

Membership to ROCO enables the Foundation to offer donors the incentive of making tax deductible gifts.
